“Our team of twelve students rose to the top during the tryouts this year as we had more than 100 students initially sign up.  They proved why they made the final cut during many after school practices and repetitive readings of eighteen different books.  I am very proud of my team,” said team coordinator Greg Mills.

This is the first year that a regional competition has been held in the Pitt County area.  Wintergreen was declared the regional winner and received a trophy, medals and a set of 2013 BOB books.

BOB is an elementary school reading competition.  Students join together in teams and read 18 different books throughout the year.  They then go on to answer questions about the books against other teams in competitions.  Books selected are critically acclaimed and selected by a panel of librarians.
