Welcome to Ayden Elementary School’s Media Program home page. The mission of the school library media program is to ensure access to the ideas of the past, the concepts of the present, and the possibilities of the future so that members of the school community will become effective users of ideas and information in the learning process. Our media program goes beyond the physical walls of our media center and offers access for our students to a variety of online resources.
Our media program also strives to work with teachers and students to integrate 21st information and technology skills into the core curriculum. All of the collaborative projects strive to meet the goals and objectives in the Information and Technology Essential Standards.
We strive to provide access for our students to a variety of books that support the Common Core and Essential Standards and also maintain a safe and orderly environment for our students to enjoy these resources. Therefore, our media center is open to students daily from 7:30-2:30; however, students do have assigned check-out times for their grade level. Students must also come to the media center with a blue pass and their ID lanyard to check out a book. Students are responsible for taking care of the materials that they check out from the media center.
Renaissance Learning offers a free, web-based book searching tool that students, parents, teachers and librarians can use to quickly and easily search for interesting and appropriate books. This tool also allows searching to see if there is a quiz for the book that students have chosen. Click on the link below to access the AR Book Finder:
