Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy in Schools
School-based physical therapists (PTs) are part of a team that supports a student’s ability to fully engage in their educational environment. Their interventions are designed to help students:
- Travel safely throughout school
- Participate in classroom activities
- Maintain and change positions within the classroom
- Navigate stairs, restrooms, and the cafeteria
While school-based therapy does not address all therapeutic needs, its primary goal is to ensure that students have the physical access they need to succeed in their education.
