HSA Student Ambassadors

Overview:

The Health Sciences Academy Ambassadors program is available to Pitt County Schools Juniors who show interest in serving as leaders of the Health Sciences Academy.  These students should demonstrate high standards of behavior and academic excellence, as well as have a good understanding of the Health Sciences Academy and its student events.  Students will serve in the academy's leadership role and receive advanced team-building and leadership skills training in a small setting.

Requirements:

Selected students will be expected to participate in several structured volunteer opportunities, as well as the scheduled training and events that are specific to this group.  Typically, this group participates in some kind of training once a month, weather permitting.  Our activities are generally planned for early release days, teacher workdays, and weekends.

Applications open once a year and the following is a list of the criteria:

  • You are currently a sophomore member of the HSA in good standing.
  • You must be outgoing, responsible, and enthusiastic about health sciences and agree to represent the HSA with maturity and professionalism.
  • You will be able to assist with functions throughout the school year on various evenings and weekends.
  • You must be able to attend workshops provided for Ambassadors scheduled for June, and August, on the afternoons of early release days, and teacher workdays during the school year.

Attention sophomores! If you're eager to develop your leadership skills, the HSA Ambassador program is the perfect opportunity for you. Open to HSA sophomores, this program gives you the chance to serve as an ambassador during your junior year while gaining hands-on leadership experience. You’ll participate in community service projects, etiquette sessions, mock interviews with ECU Health staff, community leadership training, and more. Whether you're looking to strengthen your leadership abilities or get more involved in service projects, this is your chance. Apply today! Applications close on March 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM, and interviews will be held in late March. Please read the application in its entirety and ensure that you are able to meet all of the exceptions and requirements. We look forward to receiving your application.
