ECU Health will be offering Job Shadowing on Thursday, April 30, 2026, for 10th-12th-grade HSA students. We strongly encourage students who are interested in working in a hospital setting to take advantage of this opportunity!

All of the following must be completed in full and submitted by March 2nd, 2026, by 5:00 pm to be considered for this event. Please pay close attention and read in detail.
- Electronic Event Registration and Permissions Form:
- This electronic application includes the following information
- HSA Event Registration
- PCS Field Trip Form (required electronic parent and student signatures)
- PCS Medical Authorization for Field Trips (required electronic parent and student signatures)
- ECU Health Shadow Experience Agreement (required electronic parent signatures and student signatures)
- ECU Health Shadow Participant Immunization Checklist (The checklist must be completed in full, and the student must also be able to upload their immunization records. An electronic signature is required. TB is NOT required.
- ECU Health Consent Waiver and Release (required electronic parent signatures and student signatures
- ECU Health Non-employee Education Modules
- Students will take the following steps to complete the required educational modules. The certificates will then need to be uploaded to the Job Shadow application.
- To access the Non-employee education modules, go to the ECU Health website: https://www.ecuhealth.org , scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Volunteers” then scroll to ECU Health Education Website and select “Volunteers and other non-employees.” A new window will open with links to the education modules. - Complete the following education modules:
- 2026 HIPAA
- 2026 Infection Prevention
- 2026 Safety Culture
- 2026 Workplace Safety
- 2026 Managing Escalating Behaviors
- Make sure when prompted, you enter both your first and last name. Save a Certificate of Completion for the module to upload with your application. The website does not retain any student information after the module is printed.
- Students will take the following steps to complete the required educational modules. The certificates will then need to be uploaded to the Job Shadow application.

Students who participate will receive an excused absence similar to a field trip day. Bus transportation will be provided for traditional high schools. CDCs at each traditional high school will work with the student and the school regarding transportation and attendance. Counselors at each of our Early College High Schools will work with students regarding transportation and attendance.
*Students will be notified of acceptance based on all shadow components being completed, as well as the number of seats available.
