Health Sciences Academy 2026 Scholarship Opportunities
The Health Sciences Academy is pleased to announce the opening of scholarships available to Health Sciences Academy students.
- The Health Sciences Academy Scholarship is available to graduating seniors in the Health Sciences Academy who plan to attend East Carolina University or Pitt Community College to pursue a Health Sciences degree.
The scholarship committee will award a minimum of one scholarship for East Carolina University and one scholarship for Pitt Community College, and the award amount will be up to $500 per recipient. Awards will be made payable to the institution and given to the student. Selection will be based on academic performance, volunteer experience, and involvement with the Health Sciences Academy. Applicants will be interviewed by members of the Health Sciences Academy Advisory Council.
The deadline for submission is Friday, March 13, 2026, by 5:00 pm. Semifinalists will be notified and scheduled for interviews, which will be held in April. Once interviews are completed, recipients will be notified at the HSA Senior Banquet in May.

- Jane Hanley Boardman Servant’s Heart Memorial Scholarship is available to all graduating seniors in the Health Sciences Academy who plan to attend any North Carolina college or university to pursue a Health Sciences degree.
The scholarship committee will award $1,000 to the recipient, and the award will be paid directly to the college or university in the recipient’s name. Selection will be based on academic performance, with a heavy emphasis placed on community service. Applicants will be interviewed by members of the Health Sciences Academy staff, a representative from ECU Health Workforce Development, a member of the HSA Advisory Council, and a member of the Boardman Family.
The deadline for submission is Friday, March 13, 2026, by 5:00 pm. Semifinalists will be notified and scheduled for interviews, which will be held in April. Once interviews are completed, recipients will be notified at the HSA Senior Banquet in May.

- The ECU Health HSA Scholarship is available to all graduating seniors in the Health Sciences Academy who plan to pursue post-secondary education. The ECU Health Scholarship, funded by ECU Health, supports students who have demonstrated dedication to health sciences through coursework, service, leadership, and participation in HSA activities. This scholarship is open to all Health Science Academy (HSA) seniors, regardless of class ranking or Ambassador status.
Funding: Students may receive up to $2,000 in scholarship support.
- The Kenneth and Mamie Dews Scholarship Application is available to all seniors in the Health Sciences Academy who attend DH Conley.
The scholarship will be awarded to one (1) DH Conley Health Sciences Academy graduating senior. The scholarship committee will award $1000 to the recipient, and the award will be paid directly to the university or college in the recipient’s name. Selection will be based on academic performance, community service, and involvement in the Health Sciences curriculum. Applicants will be interviewed by members of the Health Sciences Academy staff, a representative from ECU Health Workforce Development, and a representative from DH Conley.
The deadline for submission is Friday, March 13, 2026, by 5:00 pm.
Semifinalists will be notified and scheduled for interviews, which will be held on Wednesday, April 8th, at DH Conley. Once interviews are completed, the award will be announced at the HSA Senior Banquet in May.
