I grew up in South Jersey outside of Philadelphia. I graduated from the Utica College of Syracuse University in 2001 with a BA in Communication Arts and a minor in History. In 2004, I received my MS in Secondary Education. I have been a teacher since 2005, teaching at Otselic Valley High School in New York, the Family Foundation School in New York, and the Lenoir County Learning Academy in Kinston.  I have been teaching at Ayden-Grifton since the 2016-17 school year.

I have taught all levels of history from 6th-12th grade during my professional career. I have also worked on several political campaigns. I currently am part-time sports reporter for the Neuse News.

I am an avid sports fan, especially my beloved Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies.
