Volunteer Approval Procedure
Level 1 Visitor
(Swipe Driver’s License at the school for a sex offender registry check)
- Field Trip (attending with your child)
- Eating lunch with your child
- Fundraising
- Making copies for teachers
- Library or Hallway Helper (supervised by staff)
- Proctoring
Level 2 Volunteer
(Level 2 Thorough Background Check completed online)
- Field Trip Chaperone (supervising students other than your child)
- Overnight Field Trips
- Classroom Helper (supervising students)
- Helping with extracurricular activities (supervising students)
- Mentoring
- Tutoring
What is the process to become an approved Pitt County Schools volunteer?
- Complete the Principal Form and get it signed by the school principal.
- Email the form to volunteers@pitt.k12.nc.us if a Level 2 background check is needed.
- Complete the background check at Pitt County Schools Volunteer Application.
- You will be notified via email when you are approved as a volunteer.
Approved Level 2 volunteers are visible by principals and bookkeepers in Raptor.
