PCS To Operate On Remote Status For Students And Staff Monday (February 2)

Pitt County Schools will operate on a remote learning schedule for students and a remote work schedule for staff on Monday, February 2 due to hazardous road conditions in the district's transportation area following the weekend's winter storm, as well as sub-freezing temperatures and dangerous wind chill indices. Schools will contact families regarding assignments as all campuses will be closed.

This decision was made out of an abundance of caution, based on the latest weather briefing from the National Weather Service and in consultation with Pitt County Emergency Management.

PCS employees will be operating under CONDITION 5.

Key Closures and Cancellations:
●Schools: Pitt County Schools campuses are closed on Monday, Feb. 2; all students and staff will operate on a remote learning schedule.
●Afterschool Activities: All afterschool activities and athletics scheduled for Feb. 2 are cancelled.
●Central Office: Central Office is closed; all staff will operate on a remote work schedule (please check with your supervisor).
●Programs: Before and Afterschool Care Programs, Daycare Programs, and Pre-K Programs are closed.
