Key BT Program

The mission of the KeyBT program is to engage and empower our innovative, creative, and effective BTs as collaborative leaders.  It is designed to work with highly effective Beginning Teachers to train and support them to become collaborative leaders with other Beginning Teachers. Participants are nominated by their school-based peers, and one spot is allocated annually for each school. They will support other BTs in : 

  • Orientation: facilitating the summer induction of new teachers
  • Resources: creating resources for BTs to use, 
  • Training: assisting in the facilitation of monthly training for BTs,
  • Advocacy: advocating for the needs of BTs in a productive way.

Teacher Leadership Institute

The Teacher Leadership Institute, or TLI, is a two-year cohort-based program open to any teacher in PCS with a continuing teaching license.  Interested teachers can apply in the spring of each school year and are admitted beginning the following fall in cohorts ranging in size between 18-24, depending on the year.  The program focuses on developing a deep leadership identity, and involves multiple days of training each year and the completion of a year-long leadership project.
