I would like to take a moment to introduce myself to my families. My name is Mrs. Allison Setser and I have worked as both a fifth grade teacher and a middle school teacher for fourteen years in Pitt County. I served four years as an assistant principal right here at Sugg Bundy where I learned the Farmville community. During that time I was named the Assistant Principal of the year in 2012. I was the principal of Bethel School last year and made a transition back home early this fall to serve as principal at Sugg Bundy.
My husband, Mr. Chris Setser, is a fellow educator in Pitt County at AG Cox. My oldest daughter, Madison, is a freshman at ECU, and my youngest, Meredith, is currently at Chicod in the eighth grade. My family loves to travel, watch movies. attend sporting events, and complete projects at home.
As I return to the Farmville community, I would like to share that I am honored to be at the helm of a true community school and look forward to collaborating with our local churches, businesses, and community organizations. I enjoy being an instructional leader and supporting beginning teachers. I have a passion for working with children and making learning fun. I want our school to be a place where students and teachers choose to be and my job is to support them and work to improve our school daily. I believe as an effective leader it is my job to facilitate a school where both teachers and students lead. I am excited for the opportunities for change and improvement at Sugg Bundy. I am thrilled to share our PTA support has nearly doubled in just a few months. I cannot wait to see where our collaboration will take our school in the future.
In closing, I believe in my students. I believe in their ability. I believe in their creativity. I believe in their intelligence. I believe in their energy. I believe in their innocence, even when they try to act more worldly than they are. I believe in their insight. I believe in their ability to overcome obstacles in their lives that would make many of us want to give up. I believe in my students.
