Pitt County Schools will begin offering OPTIONAL testing services through MAKO Medical as a resource to families to help keep our schools healthier, reduce quarantines, and provide convenient COVID-19 related care for those who need it.

What’s being offered to PCS STUDENTS and STAFF through MAKO Medical?
Diagnostic Testing (Antigen or PCR) for individuals who have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19 (close contact) or are symptomatic and require testing to return to school. Diagnostic testing is done in-house, using kits provided by MAKO Medical and administered/monitored by our trained staff. This testing is free of charge, and helps staff members receive results and return to work more quickly.
What do I need to do to take advantage of these services?
**Please note: If you have students in multiple schools, you must utilize the registration link provided by their school. This is crucial so that the confidential results are visible to the approved school staff.
The opt-in registration process will ask a series of general questions and is powered by software from Thermo Fisher. The screens you will encounter will ask you to register for a covid test (yes) and indicate symptoms or no symptoms and close contact. The last few screens ask you to register for (future) testing, inform you of the process, collect your consent, then give you an opportunity to enter contact information. After you have entered contact information, you're finished and your student would be eligible to participate in testing if needed. Parents will be notified prior to testing occurring.
We are excited to be able to offer this extended service to assist our families and our community in staying healthy, reducing inconvenience, and working system-wide as a team to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your partnership during the pandemic, an unprecedented time in education and global health, and we thank you for your continued support. Please reach out to school staff if you have questions or concerns.
