Walk of Heroes

On Tuesday, November 13th, Farmville Middle School hosted their first Walk of Heroes Veteran’s Day celebration. The school invited local vets to attend a breakfast and student assembly in their honor. The vets walked from the library to the gym led by the Farmville Central High School ROTC color guard while all of the 6th-grade lined the halls cheering them on.

There was a short ceremony in the gym with the entire student body of 650. FMS principal, Mr. Lorenzo Lee, an Army veteran himself, welcomed the vets and called out each branch of service to be recognized. The students cheered them all on enthusiastically. At the end of the program, Mr. Dustin Younts played TAPS.

A special thank you to these businesses and people who sponsored or donated to this event.
