Ayden Middle School Counseling
The mission of the Counseling office is to promote student success by providing academic, career, personal, and social counseling. Our goal is to help each student reach his/her full potential.
What does a School Counselor do?
Help students with their personal/social, academic, and college/career needs
Work with ALL students to encourage a safe school climate of trust and respect
Facilitates individual counseling sessions, small groups, and classroom lessons
Collaborates with parents/guardians, teachers, support staff, and administration
Maintains confidentiality of students and their families unless there is a need to know or a safety concern
Help students who are struggling with conflict between friends, bullying, academic issues, divorce, depression, loss of a loved one, etc
List of Services:
- Individual Counseling
- Group Counseling
- Classroom Lessons
- Provide resources to students and their families
- Provide a "safe space" for students to express their feelings, work out their problems, create personal goals, and relax.
