  •  Alert Now Message for the week

    June 4, 2020

We have the BEST time celebrating our 8th graders on Monday.  The weather has held up nicely this week so we were able to leave the students signs out in our driveway.  If you haven’t picked yours up yet - they will be outside until tomorrow afternoon.  After that you may pick them up inside in our lobby.  Signs not picked up by June 11th will be recycled.

Tomorrow, Friday, June 5th 200 fresh produce boxes will be distributed free at Elm Grove Church between 10 am and 2 pm.  1 box will be distributed to each car.  The address is 5403 Weyerhaeuser Rd, Ayden, NC 28513.

Report cards will be mailed the week of June 8th to all students. However if a student has an outstanding debt or items such as chromebooks or instruments have yet to be returned their report card will be held at the front office.

Students who still have instruments or chromebooks out have been emailed and will be contacted by phone next week.  These items need to be returned as soon as possible.  If transportation is a concern, please contact the front office for arrangements to be made.

6th and 7th grade students who have not picked up items from their locker are being contacted by phone this week.  Any items not picked up by Thursday, June 11th will be donated or discarded.

Beginning Monday, June 8th our front office hours will be Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.  Please be aware that our school is closed Fridays through the rest of June and July.  We will resume our normal office hours of 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday the week of August 3rd.

We hope our students and families have a wonderful summer.  Best wishes to our 8th graders as they head off to high school!

    May 26, 2020

Good Morning Mustang Families, this is Mrs. Johnson, with some final reminders as we begin to close out the 2019-2020 school year.

Student belongings are available for pick up this week. Come by today or tomorrow between 10-12 or 4-6 to pick up your items or return borrowed items such as chromebooks, instruments or library books.  Teachers will greet you in the drop-off lane so you don’t even have to get out of your car.  They’ll also be out Thursday 10-12 and Friday from 10-6.  All borrowed items should be returned to school no later than May 29th.

We have received the refund from the transportation company for the 8th grade zoo trip.  These refund checks should begin to be mailed this week.

Rising 8th graders should keep their eye on their email this week.  We have the opportunity to offer World History and a hybrid 8th grade science and Earth and Environmental Science combination class.  Students who meet the criteria are eligible to sign up for one or both of these classes and earn high school credit.  Check your email for more details!

We are really excited for our 8th Grade Send Off Parade on Thursday.  Just a few reminders, it’s a floating event from 5-7 and you may drive through at any time.  We can’t wait to see you!

Our office is fully staffed this week - please call with questions!

    May 18, 2020

Good Evening Mustang Families, this is Mrs. Johnson, principal of Hope Middle School with some updates and reminders as we begin to close out the school year.

First, congratulations to our students and parents for reaching the final week of remote learning.  We are so proud of you!  It has come with quite the learning curve, but you’ve done great!  Friday, May 22nd is the last day of remote learning. Final packets will be available until Wednesday, Mary 20th.

Yearbooks are still available for sale.  However, There are no yearbooks available for sale on campus.  To purchase a yearbook check our school’s website or facebook page for the link.  If you order online now, it will be shipped directly to you.

During the week of May 26th-May 29th, we will have times set aside for students to pick up items from their lockers and return items borrowed from school.  This includes chromebooks, library books and instruments or any other equipment.  Parents should utilize the drop-off line in the front of the school, rather than parking and walking up.  Teachers will greet you at the curb and bring items to your car.

The designated times for pick-up are Tuesday, 10-12 and 4-6, Wednesday 10-12 and 4-6, Thursday 10-12, and Friday 10-6.  All student items must be picked up by May 29th.

8th grade students and their parents are invited to our High School Send off parade on Thursday, May 28th.  This is a floating parade event from 5:00-7:00 where your teachers HMS staff will be to clap and cheer to mark your finishing middle school.  We hope to see all of our 8th graders!

Final report cards and feedback will be mailed to students’ homes the week of June 8th.

This is the final march to the end of the year!  Finish strong Mustangs!  We know you are capable of great things!
