The Mission of Ayden Middle School is to provide a collaborative learning environment which works to ensure individual success with the challenges of education and life.
Middle school students from the Ayden community attend Ayden Middle School. The home of the Knights has been educating students since opening its doors in 1982. At a little more than 400 students in grades 6-8, Ayden Middle is Pitt County Schools' smallest traditional middle school and offers open enrollment. Ayden Middle is a Model PBIS school.
Exploratory Classes: band, chorus, orchestra, art, music, physical education, computer skills, career exploration, library science, makerspace, and STEM
Competitive Teams: Battle of the Books, Robotics, Science Olympiad, and quiz bowl teams
Athletics: football, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, softball, volleyball, track, cross country, and soccer
