Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is a program where students read books from a preselected list of 16 created by the state Battle of the Books committee, and then compete in quiz-bowl-style tournaments to test their knowledge of these books. We meet on Friday mornings from 8:30-9 am and during lunch. Please see Mrs. Davis in the media center if you have any questions or are interested in joining this year's team. Here is the link to the list of books for the 23-24 school year.
Glam Girls
Wellcome Middle is proud to bring Daughters of Worth, also known as GLAM Girls, back again this year. Daughters of Worth is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that exists to educate, equip, and empower girls of all ages to become strong women of influence in their communities, free of charge. The girls will meet twice a month. The first session will begin next Tuesday, September 20th. For more information, please contact our school counselor, Ms. Jolisha White.
Science Olympiad
Each school-based team of up to 15 members will cross-train for a variety of events in their skill set. The events are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of different hands-on, interactive, challenging and inquiry-based events that are well balanced between the various disciplines of biology, earth science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering, and technology. If interested, please contact, Ms. Gupton, [email protected]
