Welcome to the Creekside Media Center!
With over 21,000 items in our collection, the Creekside Media Center offers students a wealth of information through books and technology. Through Media Center programming, students learn digital literacy, information literacy, and language arts skills.
Book fairs, author visits, family events, and special programs are all designed to foster a lifelong love of learning for our students. Some events and programs offered through the Media Center include Battle of the Books, Bedtime Story Hour, Barnes & Noble School Spirit Night, Hour of Code, and the School Spelling Bee.

About the Staff
Creekside Media Coordinator Meredith Hill is in her eleventh year as the Media Coordinator at Creekside. Before that she was a Reading Recovery teacher both at Creekside and at Stokes School. Ms. Hill attended the University of Kansas and completed her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Her Master of Library Science was completed at East Carolina University. She is certified in Elementary Education, Middle Grades Language Arts, K-12 Reading, and K-12 Media. She also has National Board certification and is a previous North Carolina Media Coordinator of the Year! She has two fantastic children - Leah, a sophomore at NC State, and Matthew, an freshman at South Central High School. Her interests outside of school include gardening, lampworking, genealogy, movies, and reading (of course)!
Creekside Media Assistant Michelle Mabery is in her tenth year as a teacher assistant at Creekside. Not only does she work in the media center, but she is also an assistant for 1st grade. She has also been an assistant at Ridgewood and is famous for her bus-driving skills! Ms. Mabery completed her Bachelor degree in Human Environmental Studies at Southeast Missouri State University. She is from Missouri and loves the St. Louis Cardinals! She has two awesome children - Kesley, a sophomore at Pitt Community College, and Ryan, a senior at South Central High School. Her interests outside of school include loving her cat, Willow, shopping, and reading (of course)!
