Welcome to PTO

  • PTO Logo

    Our Purpose:
Chicod Parent Teacher Organization is dedicated to promoting our children's health, well-being, and educational success through strong parent, teacher, family, and community involvement.

    Your Support:
Joining the PTO contributes to our students, teachers and staff directly. Our dedication to educational enrichment and school activities can only be achieved through the support of our families. Family memberships and faculty/staff memberships are $10.00 per school year. We only require 1 membership per family. Donations are accepted throughout the year, in the amount of your choice.

Please contact us anytime by email: chicodschoolpto@gmail.com. We encourage you to join our group on Facebook, Chicod School PTO, and look for posts on ClassDojo. Use this link to access membership, donations, or ticketed events in our Chicod PTO School Store: chicod to.givebacks.com/store

In addition to your membership fee, there are several opportunities for you to help. Volunteering is not required but strongly encouraged. We would love to see you at a school event or in a classroom. However, we understand that schedules don't always permit. Monetary donations or supplies are welcomed year round! Please contact a Board Member on how YOU CAN HELP!  We appreciate ANY support you can provide, to help us promote a positive educational environment at Chicod School. Look for sign-ups throughout the year for our activities!

    Fundraisers:
Why Do We Need Your Support? Fundraising is the primary way the PTO raises funds for Chicod School.  You may wonder how the funds that are raised are used to help our Chicod Students. Over the last several years, our PTO spent thousands of dollars to support educational and instructional needs not covered by state and federal funding. Some of these items include:

    • Mini-grants are awarded to teachers who want to develop special programs or materials to meet specific student needs.
    • Classroom technology which allows teachers to teach each child in a manner in which they can best learn.
    • ipads, and Chrome Book Laptops to assist teachers in a state-of-art learning atmosphere.
    • Accelerated Reading program which promotes development of reading skills in all grade levels.
    • Safety Materials and First Aid Bags for each classroom.
    • Funding for Field Day activities which promote exercise and health in a fun and exciting environment.
    • $500 Beta Club Scholarship donated to a graduating D.H. Conley student from Chicod School.
    • Teacher Appreciation events held throughout the school year.
    • Playground Equipment

    Rent the Rock:
Rent the Rock Rules and Contract. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION

    TERMS OF RENTAL AGREEMENT:

    • THE RENTAL PRICE IS $30 PER WEEK. ALL enrolled students/staff have access to the rock rental.

    • The rental period runs from Saturday 12pm (noon) until 11:59am the following Saturday. All painting must be completed by Sunday 11:59pm on the week reserved unless special permission is granted by Chicod PTO.

    • Payment must be received at time of signup for the week to be reserved. If payment is not received, the week will remain open for others to claim.

    • The spirit rock is reserved for one week. A week is defined as beginning on Saturday at 12pm (noon) and ending at 11:59am the following Saturday afternoon. Example: If your child’s birthday is the week of September 9th and you want them to arrive that Monday to see the rock, you reserve the week of September 7th. You can begin painting the rock on Saturday at 12pm (noon). The person who has reserved the next week can begin painting the rock the following Saturday at 12pm (noon). Cooperation is vital for this process to work and be successful for all. We do not reschedule or refund money for rain.

    • Payment is due at the time of making the reservation and is on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are pending until payment is made and acknowledged through Chicod PTO. All payments and reservations are non-refundable. (Change your mind, inclement weather, etc). However, if you decide you do not want your date, you can offer it to a friend or sell it to another family. PTO will not offer refunds on any reserved dates.

    • It is recommended that you prime the rock prior to painting anything on it to help cover the previous week’s message.

    • Please note only the face of the rock can be painted.

    • Spray paint may be used, but be warned that it does run and can be very messy. The most popular paint to use is spray paint. You will probably need 2 cans for a good base coat (more if your base coat is white). Please note that latex paint and paint that is rolled on will take several hours to dry, as opposed to spray paint, which dries in several minutes.

    • NO inappropriate language, images/content may be painted on the rock. Political messages and/or symbols are also prohibited. If your message is deemed inappropriate by Chicod, it will be covered immediately.

    • The individual or group painting the rock assumes liability for any individual or member of the group who may be injured and/or incur clothing or other personal property damage. Please be kind to our environment and recycle empty paint cans, etc.

    • PLEASE protect the surrounding area of the rock while painting. Please use protective plastic so that we do not have paint on the Chicod property, sidewalks, parking lot or surrounding grounds around the rock. If you damage the area, we reserve the right to charge you for the cleanup.

HAVE FUN! We encourage celebratory or uplifting messages for students and teachers/staff! This rock will be visible to not only our parents, teachers, students, and staff but also GUESTS of our school. Show them why we're ALL IN ON ALL STUDENTS!
