    ASTHMA

Did you know that over 10% of school aged children have Asthma? It is important for your child to have an inhaler and spacer at school if they have been diagnosed with asthma. Even if your child has not had an asthma attack in a while, having their rescue inhaler at school could save a trip to the hospital and missed days of school. It could even save your child's life. If your child has been diagnosed with Asthma, and does not have his/her inhaler at school, please ask your doctor to fill out a Medication Authorization form and an Asthma Action Plan and turn them into school with your child's inhaler and spacer.

    VISION

7th graders will have far vision screening during Fall semester. If your child comes home with a referral form, please try to make an appointment as soon as possible. Not being able to read the board hinders your child's ability to learn. If you need assistance making an appointment, please contact me so that I can help.

    ILLNESS

Be sure that you are washing your hands, coughing or sneezing into your shoulder or elbow, and staying home when you are sick. Keep your child home if they have vomiting, diarrhea, or a fever. Make sure that your child is getting adequate sleep at night and drinking plenty of water. Remember, healthy kids learn better!
