    The Greenville (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hosted its second Inaugural Scholarship Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Bradford Creek Golf Course in Greenville, NC. Our mission is to annually host the golf tournament in order to distribute academic scholarships to male students that reside in Pitt County, NC.

    The fundamental purpose of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is achievement in every field of human endeavor. In alignment with the Fraternity's purpose, the Greenville (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc mission is to award scholarships to graduating seniors in Pitt County in the amount of $1500, $1000 and $500 annually. The scholarships are funded by our annual Scholarship Golf Tournament and are tiered as follow:

    The Greenville (NC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be awarding $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who attend Pitt County Schools.  On behalf of our chapter president, Ursula Belle, the Greenville (NC) Alumnae Chapter is committed to assisting eligible Pitt County Schools high school seniors to achieve their dream of attending a college or university of their choice upon graduation.

    The James Milton Oakley Memorial STEM Scholarship

    Recipients must meet the following criteria:

     Aspiration to major in STEM courses in college (Science, Technology,
    Engineering, or Math)

     Demonstrated ability to overcome hardship or challenges as evidenced in
    an essay

     Demonstrated ability to clearly state career goals in an essay

      Weighted GPA of no less than 3.1 for the community college applicant
    and no less than 3.4 for the four-year degree applicant

     Demonstrated interest in science/math/engineering high school

     Clean criminal history

     Candidates with demonstrated financial need MAY be given preference

    Jane Hanley Boardman Servant’s Heart Memorial Scholarship

    Health Sciences Academy is excited to announce a new scholarship, the Jane Hanley Boardman Servant’s Heart Memorial Scholarship.  This scholarship is now available to all graduating seniors in the Health Sciences Academy who plan to attend any North Carolina college or university to pursue a Health Sciences degree.  

    The scholarship committee will award $500 to the recipient, and the award will be paid directly to the college or university in the recipient’s name.  Selection will be based on academic performance, with a heavy emphasis placed on community service.  Applicants will be interviewed by members of the Health Sciences Academy staff, a representative from Vidant Workforce Development, a member of the HSA Advisory Council, and a member of the Boardman Family.

    The deadline for submission is Thursday, April 7, 2022 by 5:00 pm.  Semifinalists will be notified and scheduled for interviews, which will be held on the evening of April 21st.  Once interviews are completed, recipients will be notified at the HSA Graduation Events on either May 16th or May 17th, 2022.

    Jane Hanley Boardman Servant's Heart Memorial Scholarship Application

    FOSSI STEM Scholars

    This national program seeks to increase the number of underrepresented professionals in the chemical industry workforce. FOSSI is dedicated to supporting STEM Scholars who would otherwise not have access to a STEM education by eliminating financial barriers. To date, FOSSI has raised more than $15 million to support over 300 students in future years. 2021 scholarship recipients represent 28 states, with students now attending 25+ HBCUs. FOSSI has a long-term goal to support 1000 scholars through 2025.

    Cobell ScholarshipBoth merit- and need-based, the Cobell Scholarship is available to members of a U.S. federally recognized tribe, who are enrolled in full-time study and are degree-seeking. Applicants must plan to attend or be attending any nationally, regionally, or industry accredited nonprofit, public, or private institution. Learn more.

    Marine Corps Scholarship FoundationThe Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation awards need-based scholarships to the children of Marines attending accredited colleges, community colleges, and career technical education programs.     Long Leaf Commitment Grants

    Longleaf Commitment Grants for Class of 2022 -  Receive at least $2,800 in federal and state grants to cover tuition and most fees at any of the state’s 58 community colleges.  The bipartisan state budget that the Governor signed in November expands the Longleaf Commitment Program to include 2022 high school graduates.  More information on the grant program is available on the CFNC website and the NC Community College System website.

    RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses) Program
     The RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses) program is designed for senior students that want to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at an affordable cost. Students are dually enrolled in one of our community college partners and ECU and obtain their ADN and BSN in 4 years. This program costs about ½ of what a traditional on-campus program costs at a University, so it is perfect for anyone that is interested in obtaining a nursing degree! The application will open on September 1stOur admission deadline is January 31st.

    Our partnership has grown and now we include 11 community colleges (Beaufort County Community College, Carteret Community College, Coastal Community College, College of the Albemarle, Craven Community College, James Sprunt Community College, Johnston Community College, Lenoir Community College, Pitt Community College, Wayne Community College, and Roanoke-Chowan Community College) along with East Carolina University.

    To be considered for admission, you must have earned a high school diploma and satisfy the minimum course requirements:

    • Four units of English
    • Two units of social studies (one in US History)
    • Four units of mathematics (algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and an advanced unit of math beyond algebra II)
    • Three units of science (life science, physical science, and a lab course; biology and chemistry preferred)
    • Two units of a language other than English

    Pre-Admission Test Scores:

    Exam Component

    SAT: Reading/Writing=500, Math=530, Total score=1030

    Exam Component

    ACT: Reading=22, English=21, Math=22

     Grade Point Average:

    • To be eligible to apply for admission to the RIBN program directly from high school graduation, a student must have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the required high school courses.
    • To be eligible to apply for admission to the RIBN program after completion of at least 12 hours or more of college credit, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all required college courses.

    Due to the impact of COVID-19 on standardized test availability and the likelihood of additional testing date cancellations the UNC Board of Governors has waived the standardized test requirement for first-year students applying for admissions for Spring 2021, Summer 2021, and Fall 2021 to all UNC System Institutions. On May 27, 2021, the UNC Board of Governors voted to extend the current testing waiver for students applying for admission in Spring 2022, Summer 2022, and Fall 2022.

    Students will have the option to submit an ACT or SAT test score, but test scores will not be required for admission decisions. Those who do not submit a standardized test score will need to meet the minimum weighted GPA of 2.5 to be considered for undergraduate admission.
