Multilingual Learner (ML) Program

Previously known as English as a Second Language (ESL), the Multilingual Learner (ML) Program aims to increase the acquisition of academic English and English literacy in students who have been identified as Multilingual Learners (MLs) in grades K-12. The program provides ML services to ML students and monitors the progress of students who have obtained “Fully English Proficient” (FEP) status for two years.

It is our goal to promote the development of academic skills for MLs with instruction that will improve their proficiency level. The ML Program is designed to meet both federal and state guidelines and to maximize each student’s potential for success.
