Driver Education Requirements

Driver Education is required for all those students desiring to obtain a permit or license before the age of eighteen. The course is $60 (non-refundable) for public, private and home-schooled students residing in Pitt County. Students must be at least fourteen years and six months of age to enroll in the classroom phase. The course consists of thirty hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind the wheel instruction.

All classroom sessions are scheduled to allow for one day of absence. It is very important that the student attend the first day of class to reserve their space. Students will be advised of the dates and times during registration. A schedule of sessions is on the last page of this document.
