Early Admission to Kindergarten
A student entering kindergarten must be 5 years old by Aug. 31st of the year they plan to start school. If a student is not 5 years of age by the Aug. 31st date, early enrollment is a possibility.
The 1997 General Assembly passed legislation allowing a child who has reached his/her fourth birthday by April 16 of the same year they wish to enter Kindergarten. The child must demonstrate an extraordinary level of academic ability and maturity for early enrollment to occur. In determining eligibility, parents must first submit an application to the school principal within their attendance area. Please see the link below for the required documentation. - Aptitude
- Achievement
- Performance
- Observable Student Behavior
- Motivation to Learn
- Student Interest

This form meets the state standards for early admission to kindergarten. The parent/guardian should complete this form to ensure the child meets all requirements before requesting early admission to Kindergarten.
